In memory of

Celinda Emilia Pillo-Travez

January 12, 1929 -  September 22, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Celinda Emilia Pillo-Travez, 93 years of age, announce her passing on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Grieving her loss are her children Jorge (deceased), Mariana (Luis), Raul (Sadia), Marco (Mary), Carlos (Thelma), Alicia (Jerzy) and Freddy (deceased) along with her twenty-one grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Born 1929 in Quito, Ecuador, she married young at the age of 18 and had seven children. She was a stay-at-home mother until she moved to Toronto, Canada in 1974 in search of a better life. In Toronto, she worked in retail for many years.

She loved music and dancing and would always have music playing in the background. She loved socializing and being an incredible host to her family and friends. She loved gardening and taking care of her plants with lots of care and attention. She always saw the beauty in everyday things, animals in the trees, singing birds, the colourful flowers around her. Her family back home and in Canada were Celinda's ultimate priority, always putting them first above herself. She was proud to be both Ecuadorian and Canadian. Celinda was incredibly disciplined, hardworking, tenacious, loving, kind, compassionate, generous and devoted to her faith.
