In memory of

Pik Ha Lau

Pik-Ha (Christine) Lau

It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of Christine (Pik-Ha) Lau on June 27, 2021 at Princess Margaret Hospital, aged 74 years old. She will be sorely missed by her entire loving family, relatives and friends reaching all the way from Canada to Hong Kong. Her loving family including her husband of 41 years, Cham; her eldest son Dominic; her youngest son Tim; daughters-in-law Yan and Janet and her grandson Archie.

Christine enjoyed her life in Hong Kong, studied briefly in the US, returned to Hong Kong and then created a brand-new life in Canada with her husband and 2 kids. Smart, quick thinking, confident, friendly, positive, strong-willed, kind, generous, family-orient and funny were only a few words to describe Christine.

Upon arrival in Toronto, she worked hard to raise 2 kids and welcomed many more of her friends, relatives, nieces and nephews into her home without accepting any cost. She spent her life with a positive attitude and personality that touched so many lives with her warmth and simple acts of kindness, which earned her many life-long friends. She also actively kept a strong relationship with all her family both in Hong Kong and in Canada.

In her later years she kept a peaceful life still enjoying the simple things in life such as, good food, a warm cup of tea and being in the presence of great company.

The family extends their profound appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses of Princess Margaret Hospital for all the care they provided Christine, as she battled cancer for over 14 years. Special thanks go to Dr. Vishal Kukreti who looked after Christine for many years. In memory of Christine (Pik-Ha) Lau and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

You are my great aunt forever and always in my mind. Even we are apart from where we lives but the phone line connecting us and catching up so closed. Seeing your degenerate during our calls in the last couple months is very painful. But I believe you now rest in peaceful in our heart...….I love you.
