In memory of

Phyllis Yvonne Dumont

February 8, 1939 -  June 20, 2025

We are saddened to announce the passing of Phyllis Yvonne Dumont. Beloved wife of David Dumont (deceased), and devoted mother to Allan, Michael (Gabriela) and Joanne (Philip). Loving grandmother to Marika (Roville), David (Megan), Jonathon (Angeliqua), and Stanca, and joyful great-grandmother to Emery.

Yvonne was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing stories and laughter. A devout Catholic, she found peace and strength in her faith and gave back to the community as a dedicated volunteer at St. Isaac Jogues church. She loved poetry, reading and avidly followed tennis. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Our heartful thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army or Covenant House for Youth.

I'M FREE
Don't grieve for me, from pain I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid, you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call
I turned around and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found the peace on a sunny day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A family shared, a laugh, a kiss,
O yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full,
I've savored much,
Good family, good times, a loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me now;
From pain I'm free.

Yvonne was gentle and compassionate lady.
One could not help but feel drawn to her because of her sincerity. I have enjoyed visits with her and listened to her speak about tennis and other various topics.
I will miss our visits and chats on the phone.
Rest peacefully my friend.

My heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.
