Phyllis Beharry, 98, of Rose Hall, Guyana, passed away August 21st, 2020, after an earlier peaceful family visit that morning.
She was married to the late Isaac Beharry. Phyllis is survived by three children: Neville, Deanna (son in law Hilton) and Lloyd. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Gary, Roger, Paul, Jason, Andrea, Jonathan, and Sophia and three great-grandchildren: Samuel, Rachel, and Angelica.
Phyllis was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She lived a full life as a caregiver, master cook and baker, socializer, gardener, avid card, and scrabble player and volunteered her time into her latter years to nursing homes and hospitals. Phyllis was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She instilled in her family strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
From her favourite bible passage, Psalm 23, we reflect: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” In lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made to a local food bank of your choice.
