In memory of

Philip Nguu Dang

July 25, 1942 -  April 7, 2020

Philip Nguu Dang, 77, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Health on April 7, 2020 at 3:33am, after succumbing to a head injury during a fall the previous week.

Philip is sorrowfully missed by his wife Monica Tu Cam of 48 years, son Michael (Sylvia) Dang, daughter Sandi (Jason) Liang, grandchildren Jayden, Michelle, Megan, and Titus, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many close friends.

Philip was a loving son, husband, father, and grand-father. He has sacrificed much in support of his mother, wife and children. Having immigrated to Canada in 1979, Philip worked tirelessly at multiple jobs to provide for and support his family, always giving first to his mother, wife, and children, before himself. Philip loves to socialize with his friends and family, and even with strangers along his journey in life. He is very much involved in his community church activities, and has given his time and patience to anyone who asks. Philip enjoys Chinese poetry, and has spent many nights composing and sharing poetry of his own.

A special thank you to the people at Mackenzie Health, and Toronto Western Hospital for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards York Cemetery and Funeral Centre for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

Burial Service for Philip with his family and close friends will be held at York Cemetery in North York where he will be laid to rest, on Friday, April 17 at 11:00 am. To allow for the pandemic and this unusual time to pass, a Remembrance and Celebration of Life Service will be held on the anniversary of his passing with venue determined at a later time and date.

In lieu of flowers, Philip's surviving family members would like to support researchers at Sunnybrook Research Institute find and develop treatments and vaccines for COVID-19. Please consider donating to https://sunnybrook.ca/research/media/item.asp?c=2&i=2069&f=covid-19-isolated-2020 in Philip Dang's honour.
