In memory of

梁潘慧芬夫人 Phan Luong

April 25, 1934 -  March 18, 2018

Phan Luong, passed away peacefully, on Sunday March 18, 2018, of chronic kidney failure, in her home, in Toronto, Ontario. She was 83. She was born on April 25, 1934, in Guangdong, China. She and her family fled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, during the Japanese invasion of China in World War II. She grew up in Vietnam, and married Hien Luong. Together they built a successful life and business, and later welcomed their only daughter Angela. After the Vietnam War, she and her family left Vietnam and came to Toronto, Canada to start a new life. She worked tirelessly for her family, and also to support her sister’s family who had remained in Vietnam. She impressed upon her daughter the value of education, and by example, inspired her to work hard at all her endeavours. She will be missed by her family and all whose lives she touched. Phan is survived by her husband of over 50 years (Hien), daughter (Angela Luong, husband James Chow). She will always be remembered as the loving grandmother (“Po Po”) to Ryan and Kaitlin Chow, and the amazing aunt to her nephew and nieces of her late sister (Vinh Anh Huynh, Hoa Anh Huynh, and Anh Anh Huynh).

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Phan’s name to Diabetes Canada:
