In memory of

Petros "Peter" Evagelou

June 15, 1932 -  November 3, 2021

Peter Evagelou was born on June 15, 1932 in the small, remote town of Meliti, Greece. There he went on to marry his wife Rose Evagelou. In August of 1962, Peter, Rose and their young son Tom boarded the SS Queen Frederica to cross the Atlantic to Halifax, Canada. They then boarded a train to Toronto where they were greeted and lovingly welcomed into the Petridis home. With Uncle Sam, Teta Leika and their children Mary, Peter and Jim, they began their new life in a new country. In 1964 Peter, Rose, and Tom welcomed the birth of Stephan. Tom went on to marry Sandy and Stephan went on to marry Grace. Our Dad is blessed with 4 beautiful grandchildren, Andrew, Peter, Michelle and Sonia.

Peter lived his life as a hardworking, loving, respectful and courteous person. Everyone who knew him saw that. He was never too shy to crack a joke and bring a smile or laugh to others. When not working, dad enjoyed his garden immensely, sipping a glass of home made wine, and sharing a coffee with old friends at the local shop.

Sadly, Dad passed away at the age of 89 on November 3, 2021 in his home with his wife and 2 sons by his side. Dad, you will always be loved and forever missed. You brought happiness and joy to everyone that was fortunate to know you. Rest in Peace.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made out to Sunnybrook Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada

Visitation will be held on Monday November 8th, 2021 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday November 9 2021 at 10am with visitation 1 hour prior. PLEASE NOTE: Proof of full vaccination and identification MUST be provided by ALL attendees over the age of 12. This is required for both the Visitation and the Funeral Service. Dearest cousins Tom snd Stevie (Sandy and Grace) and all grandchildren I am thinking about all of you and sending you strength. Theo Petros was a storyteller. A funny storyteller. He was always enthusiastic when he saw family, always happy with a sincere smile. I do remember cousins coming to stay with us because I had to give up my room for years, lol, and when Tom came it was so much fun teaching him English. Then when Stevie came - every second Saturday Theo Petros, Tom, Stevie, Peter and Jimmy got haircuts from my dad. Actually brush cuts, actually shaved their heads completely! The boys actually called themselves the 3 bald men and wore hats to school. I am sorry for your loss but I promise memories like this are so helpful. Find them and laugh. Your dad had a very full and active life, cherish that. All my love Mercha
