Obituary
Peter Sadric Miller
Sept. 14, 1941 - Nov. 2, 2024

Peter Sadric Miller, a man of strength, valour and stature, was a force to be reckoned with. He was born, the third of six children, in Three Brothers/Three Brods, Westmoreland, Jamaica.

He was a God-fearing, hardworking man, with many talents; from raising and caring for animals, especially his black labrador, Blackie, to growing crops on the family farm. Peter was a trained, professional carpenter, had a profitable career as a fisherman, and an avid swimmer who enjoyed swimming in the local rivers and the Caribbean Sea.

He was a ‘trong man. He protected us; all a wi. He cherished life, and his people, loved music, dancing and had such a solid memory of his family’s roots and their inter-connectivity. He was also a man of visions and dreams... those who knew him well, know of what we speak.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Melvalee; his sons, Michael, Gary; Peter/Akeem, Javon, and Dantea; step-daughters Abbiegail and Sharon, and grand-children: Thalia, (Michael); Azari 4 years and Noah, 6 months old (Gary); Honourary grandchildren: Jordan, Madison, and Lotus (Abbiegail); sisters, Fayalee (Shirl/Faye), Pansie (*King) and Jean (*Roland); many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his eldest son Demsley (1978), brother Dalton (*Nethlyn), and sisters, Ena and Sybil.
*Spouses predeceased

Peter migrated to Canada and started his family, while running his own construction company. He and his crew built many, many homes in the GTA well into his retirement years. He lived a full life, and was dearly loved and admired by family and friends. His most common and favorite saying was, “Nuh worry yuh self.” Well, he was a Jamaican man… so, simply put, it meant… don’t worry… so, we won’t. We know you are in a better place, but we will sorely miss you. Your expressions, sayings, smile, tumps, laughter, duppy & rolling-calf stories... & of course, the dance moves.
