In memory of

Peter Marhin

October 3, 1958 -  May 18, 2022

MARHIN, Pierre “Peter”

Pierre passed away, at the age of 63, on May 18th 2022 at Sunnybrook Hospital after battling many medical complications. Pierre was born on October 3, 1958 in Paris, France and moved to Canada at a young age. To most people he was known as Peter. Aside from being survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Margaret, and their two sons Andrew (Amanda) and Eric (Ashley). His grandchildren Paisley, Bryce, and Arwyn. Peter also leaves behind his sister Elizabeth and brother in law Peter Wegierak. He was deeply loved by his brother in law and sister in law David and Linda Fox. He will be sadly missed by all of his nieces and nephews as well as friends and extended family. Peter was a loving and caring family man. He spent much of his life in management at Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens and Garden Brothers Circus and can only be described as a fair and heart warming boss that always treated his employees with respect and dignity. Peter was indeed a vibrant and charismatic character who loved life and lived it well. He gave so much to all. Everyone who knew him was richer for having the privilege. A funeral service will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on May 24 , 2022 at 2 pm. Interment will follow.

Peter was one of those individuals who enhanced your life. Although our relationship entailed meeting on the fly at Lifelabs in between shifts, he always was engaging. He was a very hard worker and talked sweetly about his family particularly his grandkids. I already miss running into Peter. My condolences to his family take refuge in knowing that we here at Lifelabs saw him as a wonderful man.

Peter and I would regularly run into each other as we went about our duties. He was someone I always enjoyed talking with. I saw him as a friendly, funny stand up guy. I had no idea about any challenges he was having, never brought it up, never complained. I'm very sorry to hear this sad news and offer his family my condolences.

Peter had that rare ability to be both great fun and extremely sincere. He exuded positivity and bore his recent extensive medical problems with courage and dignity. We have many fond memories of him. He was a great host when we were in Canada and a tremendous house guest when he visited us in Northern Ireland, a place for which he developed great fondness. He embraced life and encouraged others to do the same. A truly great husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend. We will meet again. God Bless and sustain you all now and in the days to come. Paul and Jackie

We will miss Peter/Pipi deeply for the rest of time. Peter welcomed us into the family with open and loving arms. Something that meant so much to us. That big warm hug and kiss to the cheek each time we met up will be forever longed for. His generosity and willingness to provide for his family was truly inspiring. Although, with great sadness Peter will not be with us as our family continues to grow over the years to come, his spirit and memory will live on inside of us forever. Peter was a remarkable man and I cannot thank both him and Margaret enough for raising Eric to be the most amazing man that both Arwyn and I are so fortunate to call ours.
