Peter Malcolm Wood
April 25, 1929--December 22, 2019
After a brief illness my Dad passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis (predeceased), survived by sisters and brothers, Beryl Dyer (Harold predeceased), Avril (Alvin predeceased) Anthony (Fran predeceased), Ian (Doreen), and Christine. Loving dad of Trish, son in law Kevin Lyle, Grandchildren, Leanne (Manny), Brett (Crystal), Joel, Shawn, Adam (Sarah), Marie-Jeanne & Emily, great grand daughters, Jordana and Sienna, great grandsons, Matthew and Marshall. Born in Croydon, England, he graduated in 1951 as a Mechanical Engineer from The Royal Aircraft Establishment. After immigrating to Canada in 1951, he enjoyed a 39 year career as a Professional Engineer working on projects across Canada. His last and most satisfying project was the Wellesley Hospital. My dad was very happy to get down on the floor to play with his grand children, he would be read a book/story to all of the children every occasion that he could. My dad was my friend, always there for me and my family and we are going to miss him.
Special thanks to Dr. Rotstein, Sasha, Dr. Arvenitis, Dr. Selby and all the staff on KIC, who provided my dad with caring, compassion, understanding and dignified care at this time of his life.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario, on January 4th, 2020, at 2 pm to 5pm.
