In memory of

Peter Joseph Wren

May 12, 1945 -  November 29, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the loss of our dear friend on November 29, 2022. He leaves behind his Wren family, Warren, Pauline, Trevor, Sue, Terry, Janet, Graham, Chris, nieces and nephews, his godson Elliott and friends and colleagues too many to mention.
Born in Australia he emigrated to Canada in the early 70s. He rose from humble beginnings to become a Vice President at the Bank of Montreal and was highly respected in his field. Peter travelled the world and formed life-long friendships which he particularly nurtured in his retirement years. His appreciation of the arts, cuisine and fine wines was shared with many of us. As well as being well read, he himself became a published author. Peter loved a political debate and was never fearful of expressing his opinion. We always knew where he stood. Besides being unique in every sense of the word, he had a tremendously positive influence on our lives. Peter will be sorely missed.

We will pay tribute and celebrate his life on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre (375 Mount Pleasant Rd.). Enter into the cemetery through the EAST gates off of Mount Pleasant Rd. and drive straight forward towards a red brick building. Turn right in front of this building, and the first lane on the left will then bring you to the Funeral Centre which is a large tall building alongside a large parking lot.

A link to livestream Peter's Celebration of Life will become available at the top of this page at approximately 2:45 pm on the day of the service.

Donations may be made to Inside Out Film Festival Toronto and Casey House.

I’ll miss you Peter,
I’ll miss our chats about travel, pets, places to eat, our partners and fond memories of our past together when we dated while we were young and I was innocent, Ha!
Most of all I’ll miss hearing your voice and knowing you won’t be picking up your phone to chat or meet for coffee where we share the minutiae of our lives.

Thank you Peter for being you, a caring friend, a beautiful person and a very loving partner.
I will always remember what we had.
Timing is everything, you were right once again.

We will miss our dear friend Peter. He was a generous and gracious host, smart, kind, humerous and loving. Sad at our loss but thankful that we had him in our lives for the past 25 years.
