In memory of

Peter E. McDonough

November 29, 1940 -  December 22, 2023

Peter Emmett McDonough, age 83 of Toronto ON, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday December 22, 2023, due to complications from Alzheimer’s.

He was preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Dora Frances: his siblings Stephen, Bernie, Pauline, and Kelly; and stepmother Georgette. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane (nee Isadore-Gould); his children Sean, Kim (Shawn); his granddaughter Holly Jane; his siblings James and Michelle.

He was born in Kingston ON, the first child of Emmett and Dora Frances. Peter had a long career as a commercial artist. In his retirement years, he enjoyed the summers on the Powwow trail with his wife of 56 years, Mary Jane. There they met many good friends. In the last years of his life, he loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Holly Jane and would still light up when he saw her.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Salvation Army.

Thinking of Peter and his family at this time.
This quiet, soft spoken man loved his family and enjoyed their company.
Peter was so supportive of Mary Jane while on the Powwow trail where they easily met many lifelong friends.
Peter will be missed and remembered.
Nmultis,
Joanna and Paul Hastings

Peter was a great friend of ours. We met on the powwow trail along with Mary Jane. We enjoyed all of Peter's stories of his growing up times, to his adventures in his mining days with his uncle. He enjoyed chats with my mother also about days of long ago in the city. We loved Peter like family we will miss him dearly. 😢
