In memory of

Peter Diakopoulos

DIAKOPOULOS Peter (Panagiotis, Panos)

On November 13, 2023 Panos Diakopoulos, at the age of 75, was called to Heaven peacefully by our Lord and Saviour, surrounded by his loving family. Panos was born in Pyrgos Ilias on January 21, 1948. His sister Stavroula brought her young brother Panos to Canada with her in search of a better life. Together with her husband Spiros, they raised Panos from the age of 12 and helped shape him into the wonderful man he grew to be. With his beloved wife Martha, Panos had three children, daughters Gina (John), Giota (Raffaele), Niki (Nick) and 5 beautiful grandchildren Peter, Athena, Stefania, Martina and Natalie. Panos will always be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, an adoring Papou, a hilarious uncle, and a loyal brother. His faith in God was unwavering and he credited the Lord with all of his blessings. His memory will serve as a reminder to never hesitate to help people whenever you can. He was a hopeless romantic who never missed a chance to tell Martha that she was the love of his life. He was the warmest, most caring father to his daughters. He was a barbecue master, incredibly giving, and made people laugh every chance he could. Although they will miss him dearly, Panos left a lifetime of happy memories behind for his wife and children to hold on to. There are some things that even death cannot take from us. Panos will live on in our hearts forever. “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.”

I will forever cherish the beautiful memories we created at Dorothy Ley Hospice together. Peter made every staff member, resident, and family members feel special. Putting smiles on everyone’s faces as Martha tirelessly walked him around the halls and courtyard. Bless you Peter as you are freed now to travel to your beloved Greece. R.I.P.

Martha, Gina, Giota, Niki and family, our sincere condolences for your loss. We will all remember Peter with his beautiful smile! He and my mom are dancing in heaven together now.

Love you all, and special thanks to Martha for supporting me as we journeyed together at hospice. It was such an honour to get to know you both. Martha, your Peter will forever look after you from heaven above. ❤️

Forever grateful,
Marilyn and family
