In memory of

Peter Contino

January 14, 1936 -  March 7, 2022

We are saddened by the passing of Peter Contino on Monday, March 7th, 2022 at Mackenzie Health after a brief illness. Peter was so full of life, and was ever the consummate story teller. Never at a loss for words, he made friends wherever he went. He was a devoted husband to Amy for 45 years. Loving father and father-in-law to Cara (Matthew) and Evan (Patrick). Proud Papou to Theodora and Ezra. He loved both of his sons-in-law like they were his own. We were so blessed to have him with us for 86 years and he will be forever in our hearts.

I never thought he would give up, but it just became too hard for him to fight despite his enormous love for his family. It is understandable, still a shock to all who knew his indomitable spirit.

With much sadness, we extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Peter, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who deeply adored his wonderful wife Amy, Cara and her husband Matthew, Evan and his husband, Patrick, and sweet grandchildren, Theodora and Ezra.

Peter was a kind, warm and curious man who loved life, learning, and story-telling, almost as much as he loved his dear wife Amy, and his family, who always came first - he will be missed but his love will endure.

Peter touched all of our hearts and we have very fond memories of him. He was like nobody else on this earth, and we will feel his loss deeply. I know him mostly through his voice! The quality, but also the humor and care. We love you all and will be there in spirit with you today and forever as you grieve your husband, father and grandfather.
