In memory of

Penny Noble

Penny Noble – an industry leader, talent agent extraordinaire, and Canadian entertainment titan – passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025 after a courageous five-month battle with brain cancer.

A trailblazer in the Canadian entertainment industry, Penny founded Noble Talent Management in her early twenties, which would eventually become the powerhouse agency, Noble Caplan Abrams (NCA). She was an unstoppable force as a talent agent, and more recently, a proud Canadian film producer of the feature film Stealing the Sky. Needless to say, Penny mentored countless artists and shaped careers across stage and screen. Her contributions to the world of film, television, and theatre cannot be overstated. With her passing, a great void will forever remain in the Canadian entertainment industry.

As with any great production, the credits must roll – in this case, they include the dedicated, talented, and incredibly loyal team at NCA.

Penny’s greatest role, however, was as a mother to her daughters, Gigi and Gemma, who were her deepest pride and joy. Gigi and Gemma Noble stand as a testament to the kind of woman that Penny was. She adopted both girls from China and raised them as a single parent. Penny was a great role model of independence and bravery to her girls – it is no surprise that both Gigi and Gemma have blossomed into intelligent and ambitious young women. Her love for them was boundless, and her spirit will live on in their strength and grace.

Penny is also survived by her family: her brother Craig (Helen); her nephews Justin (Jennifer), Cameron (Afroze), and Spencer (Annabel); her beloved cousins Gordene and Marylou; and, her lifelong friends who stood by her through every chapter and offered their love, laughter, and support. The family extends special thanks to Ruby for her care and tenderness in Penny’s final months.

Penny passionately stood for human rights and equal access to fundamental human needs. She donated on a regular basis to World Vision, Planned Parenthood, the Brady Center, and numerous local theatre companies. Any donations in her honour would be appreciated. Penny’s compassion and kindness extended far beyond her immediate circle, touching countless lives in ways many will never fully know.

With all due respect to the multitudes of individuals that Penny affected, the family has decided that a private visitation is best, followed by an invite-only celebration of life. In lieu of an invitation, please consider donating to one of the many charities mentioned.

5 years ago I had lost touch with Penny deciding (at that time) to retire from the industry. I feel regret that after 40 years of representation we had lost contact and feel regret now not being able to have had, at the very least, a proper goodbye. I always admired her strength and confidence. My condolences to her children and family.

So sorry to hear of Penny's passing. She was a wonderful boss, mentor, and role model. She inspired me with her knowledge, loyalty to her clients, and canny business sense. She had a lovely engaging manner and was an excellent listener. She had a contagious laugh, and a kind word for everyone. My deepest condolences to her family, and all her friends, colleagues and clients. She will be missed. RIP.

For over twenty years, Penny was my agent. She was the first person, after my mom, to believe in my writing. Far beyond the professional, she was my North Star, my greatest mentor, and my trusted friend, She was executive producer and producer of my first feature Stealing The Sky. There would be no Stealing The Sky movie without Penny. Penny made all of us better. Better filmmakers, better actors, better writers, better humans.

I will forever cherish your laughter, your honesty, and the way you always made people feel seen and valued. I feel so lucky to have been able to call you my friend.

Though you’re no longer here in body, your spirit remains in every memory, every lesson, every shared moment. I’ll carry you with me always—with love, with gratitude, and with deep sorrow that you’re gone far too soon.

Although I was not repped by Penny at the agency she founded I've heard many great things about her over the years from my agent Rick.
She was a hard worker with a passion for the arts, who managed to break the glass ceiling and turn her talent agency to one of the top brands in Canada.
Penny was selfless. In addition to her regular charitable contributions, she quietly engaged in numerous compassionate acts, including the extensive support she offered to a fellow long-time talent agent – who had a celebration of life earlier this year.
Most importantly, she was a mom who was very proud of and loved her two kids deeply.
Through these stories I got to know what an incredible human being Penny was.
Rest well now – we will always remember you!
