In memory of
Peh-Chun Chang
March 30, 1954 -
January 16, 2021
Peh-Chun Chang (March 30, 1954 - January 16, 2021), was born in Taiwan before immigrating to Canada in 1981. He was the middle child of three boys and is survived by his father, Shaw-Kee, and brother, Burt (Susan) and predeceased by his mother, Shu-Min and brother, Po-I. In his early twenties, he was fortunate to travel the seas and work on freight ships. It was during this time he picked up his token “Not too bad” reply whenever asked how he was.
After immigrating to Canada to join his wife, Su-Yun, they were blessed with three children, Nadine, Nathan, and Natalie. Peh-Chun worked hard to provide for his family over the years including serving as a cook in Toronto’s Chinatown restaurants, owner of PC Home Improvements and retiring early as a proud machine mechanic with Multimatic Mfg.
Throughout the years he was an avid fisherman and craftsman before becoming the gardener of the beloved backyard where his grandchildren would play and memories were made. Little did he know that his early retirement would be a catalyst for the legacy of faith in Jesus Christ for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Peh-Chun passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer in his Toronto home on January 16, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Su-Yun, children, Nadine (Michael), Nathan, and Natalie (Justin), grandchildren (Symphony, Caleigh, Aria, Kristen, Coda, and Zachary) and his nieces and nephews.
The Chang family would like to express their gratitude to their extended church family for blanketing them with prayer at this time and through the years.
The compassionate care and advocacy provided by the staff at Sunnybrook HSC and SE Health in addition to St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto Rehab, and Markham Stouffville Hospital throughout the years have been a gift in difficult times.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toronto Mandarin Chinese Community Church, your local Food Bank, or charity of choice .
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral will be held as a private family service.
A Celebration of Life to be held when COVID-19 restrictions permit.
