Pearl Wen Shin Chou

March 19, 1970 - May 24, 2023

Pearl Wen Shin Chou passed away peacefully in Sunnybrook hospital, at the age of 53 joining her parents in peace.

Moving from Taiwan and Singapore to Canada on January 3rd, 1976, Pearl earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies and later became a Quality Analyst at Manulife.

She is predeceased by her father, Han Chang Chou, founder of A.M.I.C. ship brokerage company, and mother, Betty Beerh Chou, Chinese school teacher. Survived by her children: Daughters Marissa, Erika and son Li; siblings, Angela, Betsy and Eric Chou.

Pearl’s fighting spirit and strength carried her and her family through her years of treatment. Her final act of kindness was the gift of eyesight for cornea donation.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, May 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Scarborough Chinese Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Sunnybrook hospital and Cheng Hsin General Hospital (Taiwan) for their care and kindness.
