In memory of

Paulette Bignell

March 28, 1942 -  March 10, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Paulette Bignell (nee Charlebois) on March 10, 2023. Loved by all who knew her, she is now reunited with her cherished husband of forty years, Jim Bignell, who predeceased her in 2011. Left to mourn the loss of their irreplaceable Mum are her daughters Carolyn Iyer (Michael) and Lisa Wilkinson, and her two adored grandchildren, Elise and River, who brightened up her life immensely.

Paulette affectionately referred to us as “her little family”.

Paulette was born March 28, 1942, and started life in Alexandria, Ontario. She was the daughter of John and Theresa (nee Ravary) and was the youngest of five siblings—Raymond (Jeanette) , Jackie (Roy), Bernie (Faith) and Muriel (Jacques). Paulette also had many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.

A devout Catholic, Paulette later moved to Toronto to start her family, then resided in Ajax. As a widow, she lived in the Beaches, Toronto, and was an active member of the community.

KIndness, faith, and Paulette’s happy spirit motivated everything she accomplished in life.
We will miss her greatly.

Funeral service will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre at 375 Mount Pleasant Road (East gates) on Saturday March 18, 2023. Arrival at 1 pm, with Service beginning at 2 pm. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother talked about you all with such love so often. She spoke very tenderly about her husband, their home together, and her garden. She was a lovely woman, and a pleasure to work with. She was gentle, and cheerful, and worked very hard. She'll be missed in so many ways.
