In memory of
Paul Henry O'Neil
September 19, 1969 -
March 18, 2023
A beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Paul Henry O’Neil passed away peacefully in Toronto surrounded by his loved ones on March 18th, 2023. He was 53 and the first son of Theresa Broadley O’Neil and Owen McCaul O’Neil. Born September 19th, 1969 in Glasgow, Scotland, Paul left an indelible mark on the lives of all those who knew him.
A life-long athlete, Paul's love for sport was evident in everything he did. On the court, field, and ice, he brought dedication and spirit to every game, inspiring those around him to push themselves. His love for tennis, soccer, and hockey was infectious. Paul was always eager to share this passion through coaching his children’s teams.
Paul was an expert driver, race car aficionado and fearless behind the wheel. His enthusiasm for motorsport was apparent to anyone Paul could corner to share it with. And his love of speed and competition were evident in all aspects of his life, not exclusive to the track.
Paul had a unique and remarkable intellect. He is remembered as studious and for his love of learning, often in great detail about anything that piqued his interest. Educated at Brebeuf College School and graduating with a degree in Fine Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, his successful career in finance was a testament to his intelligence, hard work, and determination. Paul will be remembered professionally in Toronto at The Bank of Montreal Investment Council; and Knight, Bain, Seath and Holbrook; and in New York at Omega Advisors.
Paul leaves three loving children: Hanna, James and Lily. Beloved son of Owen and Theresa. Brother to Maureen, Susan and Brian. Brother-in-law to Sam Qubti and Sue Greco. Uncle to Sophie, Duncan, Ava, Mateo, Gina, Andrew, Mathew, Ryan and Erin. The family lovingly thanks and embraces Krista Brodhurst, Paul’s partner in life in his final years, who brought him immense happiness and companionship.
The loss of Paul is deeply felt. May his life be a reminder of the joys of lifelong learning and of challenging ourselves to new adventures while remaining true to yourself until the very end.
His brain of this world may have failed but his spirit was stubbornly strong. ~
