In memory of

Paul Jean Cappa

July 21, 1936 -  July 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Cappa on July 12, 2024 at the age of 87. Paul passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital, after a lengthy illness and a courageous fight. Loving husband of Myriam, beloved and adored father of Patrick, son of the late Victor and Marie Cappa, and brother of Jean Cappa. Paul will be greatly missed by all, as well as his chosen extended family, and friends far and wide. Paul was a passionate hotelier and restaurateur, whose career led him to many destinations throughout Europe and North America. Upon his tardy retirement, he dedicated his time to his loving wife and son, as well as his close extended family. He loved movies and sports – especially soccer, and his greatest memories were always associated with great meals with family and friends. He was charming, passionate, extroverted, funny, an engaging and consummate host - but most of all, he was an eternal optimist. He could start up a conversation with anyone, made everyone feel like family and had a one-of-a-kind sense of humour. Paul's family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and especially Dr. Jeon, who went above and beyond to give him the best care possible. Our family would also like to acknowledge the constant support of his family, friends and all of Paul’s condo neighbors that tirelessly offered support and help during his battle. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation under Paul’s memorial page at:

A gathering will take place at a later date to celebrate Paul's life. Details will follow.

Patrick and Myriam,

Words can't describe how much we will miss Paul. He was a wonderful man, who showed us love every time we were with him. We will fondly remember Christmas', birthdays, Thanksgiving celebrations and just the every day mundane with him. We will think of him when we sit down to a plate of pasta and when we settle in with a good scotch. He was a wonderful husband and a truly dedicated and loving father. He showed love to all of his friends and we were the lucky recipients of that love for many years. May your memories of him get you through this hard time and more importantly, may his memory be a blessing.

With love,
David, Miriam, Talia and Miami Lipton
