In memory of
Paul Barbeau
January 5, 1966 -
September 7, 2020
Paul Barbeau, aged 54, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020 with his family by his side. They are devastated by the loss of Paul. Paul was born on January 5, 1966 in Scarborough, Ontario to Patricia (Hall) Barbeau and Joseph Gerard Barbeau.
He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree and from McMaster University with a Master of Business Administration. At the time of his passing, he held a senior position at CIBC.
Paul married his loving wife, Rachel (Cheng) in 2006. They had a wonderful life together. They loved to travel, curl, and play golf. Paul had a big heart and was kind to everyone he met. Children gravitated towards him because they could sense his kind soul. He was an uncle to 2 nieces (Carol and Gabby) and 2 nephews (Gary and Michael) who loved him dearly.
The last year had been a real struggle for Paul. He fought a courageous battle, but sadly he succumbed to his illness. We are very proud of him and we miss him terribly.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Rachel, his caring mother, Patricia Barbeau, his sister (who loved him dearly), Carol-Ann (Barbeau) DaSilva and his brother-in-law and avid Scrabble opponent, Trevor DaSilva. He is predeceased by his father, Joseph Gerard “Gerry” Barbeau in 1996. Paul is the grandson of the late Dr. George C.R. Hall and Doris Marie Knight Hall of Little Britain, Ontario.
Paul also leaves behind 4 sister-in-laws (Kathy, April, Brenda and Fred) and brother-in-law, Alton and his wife, Wendy.
Paul was a very generous person who was always eager to help someone in need. His wish was to donate his organs which was honored on his passing, resulting in him saving 3 lives.
A visitation will be held for Paul on Saturday, September 19th from 1:00pm to 1:30pm at Elgin Mills chapel followed by a memorial service from 1:30 to 3pm. The Elgin Mills chapel is located at 1591 Elgin Mills Road East in Richmond Hill. Unfortunately, due to COVID, attendance is restricted to immediate family and friends. In-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scarborough Health Network.
