In memory of

Patrick Pritchard

March 24, 1976 -  December 22, 2021

With great sadness we say goodbye to Patrick Mitchell Pritchard, who passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital in the early hours of December 22, 2021, following a sudden battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of eight years, Christine, his son August, and his parents, David and Minerva. He was 45.

Patrick (sometimes simply known as “P” or “P-Funk” to his friends) was a lifelong learner, with a mind always hungry for knowledge, and this is reflected in his many, many degrees and certifications. He liked to joke that he wanted to have as many letters after his name as were in his name. This great curiosity was also reflected in his love of building and tinkering, especially with retro technology both in hardware and software. He had a unique way of twisting words and could take you on a wild linguistic journey that didn’t make sense on the surface, but actually made perfect sense. It was called Plogic.

Though he worked in technology, his passion was for photography, animals, comics, and those closest to him. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family, and a devoted father to August. He was unafraid to speak his mind, incredibly self-sufficient, and there wasn’t a challenge he faced that he couldn’t overcome. He will be deeply missed.

A private memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre. The interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to join the service virtually on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10am.
A link to livestream the service will become available at the top of this page at 9:45 am, January 8th.
Please respect the privacy of the Pritchard Kwun family, no screenshots or recordings of the service are to be made.

In lieu of flowers, “In Memory” donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund Canada.

My heart goes out to Patrick’s family for the untimely loss of this fine young man. To see the interaction between Patrick and his son at family get togethers in Huntsville was truly amazing.

Working together for many years we all heard about Patrick. You could not think of Minerva without the love she has for her son. In contacting “the crew” the first thing anyone said was, “He is her heart”. Know that you are surrounded by love as you go through this incomprehensible time. Patrick would want you to be strong so hold on, our dear friend and sister. Hold on for the family he left you 💕
