In memory of

Patrick Nelson

September 7, 1931 -  September 24, 2024

Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer.

He now joins his beloved wife Ethel Phyllis McKenzie (nee Henry) of 53 years.
Born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana, Patrick married Ethel in Toronto before moving to Fort McMurray, Alberta to work with Syncrude as a Chemical Engineer. Patrick enjoyed travelling with his wife and made many friends wherever they went, telling jokes and breaking into song was part of his charm. He is predeceased by his parents Alfred McKenzie and Jane Christopher, 3 of 4 siblings and his wife, Ethel. He is survived by his brother George and many nieces and nephews.
Overall, Patrick had a full, rich life filled with music, learning worldwide travel, family and friends. Those who knew him found him to be kind, friendly and always smiling.

In honour of Patrick and the amazing care he received over the last four years, in lieu of flowers, donations to the following organizations would be greatly appreciated:

• Peel Senior Link
• Princess Margaret Hospital (Sarcoma Clinic)
• Credit Valley Hospital (Palliative Care Dept)
• Dorothy Ley Hospice

A graveside service will be held at the scattering platform at Meadowvale Cemetery, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 1 p.m.
