Wonderful mother-in-law for 42 years, Pat always made me welcome from the first time I went to the house, treated me like her own daughter, and was enthusiastic, generous, kind, intelligent, funny, determined, committed to education and advancing women in all their fields. Her brilliant smile and beautiful blue eyes will be missed by all friends and family. Her devoted care of Jim, her beloved husband of 52 years, in his later years will always be remembered with gratitude and love.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Patricia Hughes. For those of us who attended Golf Road Public School and had "Miss" Allen, we remember her as a special teacher who provided a lively, interesting, and fun classroom. I was fortunate to be in her 3 year accelerated class, and know her as an exceptional teacher who inspired and challenged us to the best of our abilities. She has left a legacy of who are now parents and grandparents that will always have her in our thoughts.
