In memory of

Paschalia "Vicky" Traikoff

July 20, 1936 -  February 27, 2023

It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Vicky “Paschalia” on Monday February 27th, 2023, at the age of 86 years old. Born in Neochoraki, Florina, Greece in 1936 to her parents Demetre and Dimana along with three brothers - Christos, Kiriakos and Gregorius.

She left her small village in Northern Greece to immigrate to Canada in 1957 and married her husband Slavcho (predeceased) in 1958 and was mother to Kathy and Christopher (Ifigenia “Effie”) and very proud grandmother to Nicholas and Alexandra.

As with countless immigrants from the old country she exhibited a strong work ethic that drove her to assimilate and learn English to gain employment in her adopted country. She was very proud of her time employed at East General Hospital with the housekeeping team during the 1960’s and early 70’s and eventually assisted the healthcare staff in translating Greek to English for the large number of Greek immigrants who were patients in the hospital.

Heavily involved with the church for many years, she spent countless hours volunteering her time with the Ladies Section to help with the planning and cooking for special events, singing in the choir or arranging for trips with the ladies to various locales such as Niagara Falls or Thousand Islands.

In her retirement years she was a proud Baba to Nicholas and Alexandra and enjoyed seeing their growth and shared many laughs with them that helped keep her feeling young at heart.

We love you and will miss you very dearly. While your presence is no longer here your memory will always be with us in our hearts. Rest well now and be at comfort in the peace of the Lord.
