Mrs. Panayiota Anemou, age 80 of Markham passed away Thursday evening, November 3, 2022, at Markham Stouffville Hospital

She was born September 8, 1942, in Limassol, Cyprus.

Panayiota was preceded in death by her daughter Irene, brothers Andreas, Kostas and Stelios and sister Eleni.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Papaioannis, sons Andreas and Dimitris, daughters Maria and Christina, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Caroline, brother Dimitri, sisters Vicky and Maria, five granddaughters, one grandson, and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Mom was a strong, determined and fierce woman who devoted her life to raising her children. We will miss her every day.

Funeral service will be held 10:30AM, Monday, November 7, 2022 at St. Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church at 11323 Warden Ave. Burial will follow at the Elgin Mills Cemetery at 1591 Elgin Mills Rd East.

Visitation is from 4pm to 6pm Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the Elgin Mills Funeral Home 1591 Elgin Mills Road East
