In memory of
Panagiotis ( Peter) Karachotzitis
March 25, 1917 -
October 2, 2017
Panagiotis (Peter) Karachotzitis, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on October 2nd, 2017. He was born in Asprokampos on March 25th, 1917 in the picturesque valley of Nemea, Korinthia, Greece. Panagiotis will be remembered for his kind and giving nature and for being a dedicated and hard working person. He was a humble man full of wisdom, kindness, and optimism. Panagiotis' generosity and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Panagiotis is survived by his loving wife, Panagoula, his daughter, Catherine, his son-in-law, Lou and his adored and cherished, grandchildren, Matthew and Vanessa. He is preceded in death by his son, Constantinos. He was very heart broken and devastated by his son's death but tried to remain upbeat for the sake of his family.
Panagiotis' family meant the world to him and he always provided words of wisdom and guidance about life. He had great pride and joy in his grandchildren's accomplishments and academic achievements.
Panagiotis was a devoted Greek Orthodox and an active member at his church, The Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Panagia). Every Sunday morning, Panagiotis was dressed in a suit and ready to volunteer his services at church in order to support his community. His positive outlook and unwavering faith guided him through life's challenges. Panagiotis also enjoyed watching hockey and listening to Greek music. He loved family gatherings and going out to restaurants or church functions with family, relatives and friends.
In the past, Panagiotis enjoyed travelling back to Greece where he could see family and friends. He loved talking about the old times and he enjoyed the fresh air and mountains of his village, Asprokampos.
The loss of an amazing person has left a void in our hearts. While we mourn deeply with this profound loss, our memory of him and his positive view of the world will continue to bring us joy and inspire us. Panagiotis' memory and spirit will live on through his wife, grandchildren, family and friends.
