Obituary for Panagiotis (Peter) Patsourakos

In Loving Memory of Panagiotis (Peter) Patsourakos
March 10, 1940 – June 15, 2025

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Panagiotis (Peter) Patsourakos, who departed this life peacefully on June 15, 2025, in Toronto, at the age of 85.

Born on March 10, 1940, in Sidirocastro, Greece, Peter’s life was one of dedication to family, hard work, and strength. He later settled in Toronto, where he built a life grounded in love and resilience.

Peter is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Agelo (Angela) Patsourakos, his beloved daughter Stamata (Tina) Patsourakos, and his cherished son-in-law Konstantinos (Kosta) Balasis. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Nicholas and Angelina, who brought great joy and pride to his life.

Peter’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, perseverance, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of his family and all who loved him.

He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his hearty laugh, and the joy he brought into every room he entered.

His kindness, humor, and warmth touched all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him most.

We have such fond memories of Panagiotis or Peter as we knew him. When we first moved to Eleanor Avenue, we didn’t know much about gardening. It was Peter who showed us how and when to trim our grapevine. He was so kind and patient with our efforts. The grape vine is strong and healthy today thanks to his advice.

We were fascinated by the fig tree he grew in his garden. He wrapped and buried it every fall to keep it protected during the cold Toronto winters. For us, it was a sign of spring when Peter dug up the fig tree and replanted it.

Winters on Eleanor Ave. always required a lot of snow shovelling. Peter was always one of the first out on the street to clear the sidewalk and despite the hard work, he was always smiling. He helped the rest of us embrace the task of clearing all that snow with good grace.

Peter was always full of joy. When he played with Nicholas in the backyard, we could hear the two of them laughing with such energy and delight. It always made us smile.

He was a caring and thoughtful neighbour and will be dearly missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Angela, Tina, Kosta, Nicholas and Angelina.
