In memory of

Panagiota Coucouves

December 20, 1925 -  April 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Panagiota Coucouves (nee Platanitis) on April 7, 2021 in Toronto, at 95 years of age. Loving wife of Panagiote (d. 2013). Cherished mother of Athanasia (Dionysios) and Constantina (Ioannis). She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Voula (Alex), Christine (Viken), George (Gina), Peter (Diana), Betty (John), Anna (Angelo) and her sixteen great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Vasiliki. Part of a large and loving family she was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Panagiota was born in Arachamites, Tripoli, Greece and immigrated to Canada in 1967 with her husband and two daughters and made Toronto her lifelong home. In her retirement years, she enjoyed visiting Greece every summer with her husband.

In memory of Panagiota and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Society (https://arthritis.ca) would be appreciated by the family.

Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love and condolences we have received. Current COVID-19 restrictions have limited our opportunity to gather and celebrate Panagiota’s life, but a Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in the future. A private family service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre and in-person attendance will be by invitation only.

The funeral will be live streamed at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021. The link to the live stream will become available at 10am at the top of this page.
