In memory of

Pamela DeGroot

December 9, 1934 -  September 19, 2024

Pam DeGroot passed away on September 19th in the late afternoon. She had suffered a stroke/ brain bleed the week before and was brought to St.Michael’s hospital. While there, she received exceptional care. We are especially grateful for the kindness and gentle care of the entire team in palliative care.

Mom was so happy to have a visit from son Peter just last week! And to have had a wonderful visit with daughter Margaret in June. She enjoyed her many outings with daughter Karen to play bridge, meet for lunch or just visit with friends. Mom never did embrace technology, but was always happy to be hooked up with our weekly Sunday afternoon New Zealand, Vancouver, Toronto Zoom visits! There was always an extra thrill to see her son-in-law or her dear grandchildren.

In February of this year, Pam made the decision that she was ready to leave her home on Elmview Drive and chose to live at Retirement Suites By The Lake. Her six months there were wonderful. She especially enjoyed the many music performances offered there!

Pam will be missed by her sisters Donna and Ruth, and sisters-in-law Deta and Jeannette. She will be missed by Karen and Harvey, Peter, Margaret and Brett and Matthew, Amanda and Annie. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her many friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pam’s memory to a charity of your choice, or to one of these that were meaningful to her: The Daily Bread Food Bank, St. Michael’s Hospital or Fallingbrook Presbyterian Church.

We are so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. She was a warm and gracious woman with a loving smile and kind words. She and Jack were the perfect couple, always inviting, always positive. We will miss her, but will remain fondly in our memories.

May she rest in eternal peace, John & Anita Borovilos
