Words are written in an effort to convey sentiment and yet never seem to be adequate in expressing how deeply sorry we are about your Mum passing away. Although we hardly knew her, she clearly was such a significant part in your life as all mothers are. Her last few years have been enriched by companionship from Jason, Blooey, Bonnie Lass and Kiddie Kidden. Your recent time with her has been well spent and in time to come, your memories will bring joy to relieve the sadness that you are currently feeling. Best wishes and love. Richard, Ann and Abby
Pam and I were great friends at school while Pam and Anne were living in Queensland. We often met at the Smiley home in Windsor and at ours in East Brisbane. Pam used to say her mother's name was the longest in the world with a mile between the s and the y. She looks so much like Audrey in the photo you sent Cathy. We sat next to each other in St Mary Alpheus' class during our sub-Junior (Grade 9) year and ended up doing the same subjects for Junior and for Senior. Pam went on to be a full-time student at the University of Queensland while I became a librarian, doing an Arts degree in the evening. We joined the same social group - the Newman Society, and had a couple of great Uni camps at Tallebudgera as well as a memorable holiday at 'O'Reillys on the Lamington Plateau. We kept in touch when Pam went to Canada, and in the wonderful age of computers, by email every Christmas. When she came to Australia, we tried to meet up. My last fond memory was from a weekend at Coolangatta with Pam, Joph and another great school friend, Margaret Kelly. We will miss her so much.
It is a sad time for Jean, Cathy and Ian to whom we extend our deepest condolences and regret greatly that the Covid restrictions make it impossible to meet and together remember Pam.
Very saddened with the passing of Aunty Pam. We have very fond memories of her visits here over the years.
Our love to you all
