In memory of

Otto James (Jim) Pomeroy

In Loving Memory of
Otto James “Jim” Pomeroy
May 4, 1945-November 27, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Pomeroy, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, after a short courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, neighbors, and close friends, who were with him until his final breath.

Jim was born in Newfoundland and relocated to Ontario in his youth. He worked with Canada Wire and Cable Company until the company closed and he retired.

Jim was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He helped his neighbours daily with many tasks even when he wasn’t feeling well. He was the recipient of the “ Scarborough Centre Good Neighbour Award” for two years.

Jim is predeceased by his mother and three of his sisters.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Eva McDavid, who was not only his devoted partner, but also his best friend.

A Celebration of Life for anyone wanting to pay respects are welcome on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at his home in Scarborough.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

When tomorrow starts without me
Don't think we're far apart
For everytime you think of me
I'm right here in your heart.

Sending our deepest condolences to Eva and the entire Pomeroy Family.
May Jim's memories fill your hearts with peace, comfort and a smile.
