Olive Lorraine Fortune

November 28, 1926 -  November 11, 2018

Passed away in her 92nd year on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at North York General Hospital. Beloved wife for 63 years of Donald McArthur Fortune (predeceased), mother of Patty (Cliff Nordal) and Wendy (Robert Positano), loving grandmother to Kirsty Nordal and Lindsey (Bill Aldridge), and Jarred, Karli, and Dorion Positano, loving great grandmother of Ivy, Tristan and Scotlyn Nordal-Aldridge., sister of Robert Hill, cousin of Carol Hayman. Lorraine enjoyed a career in Industrial Psychology working alongside Don in DM Fortune and Associates and served clients from Canada and around the world. She was highly regarded professionally and held numerous Board and volunteer committee positions. Her contribution in these roles had a positive impact on the lives of many. She loved her Muskoka cottage and spent much cherished time there with family and friends over the years. She loved her dogs, especially her little poodle Sophie. She enjoyed world travels and was particularly fond of her many visits to Barbados and England. She had a passion for and was highly proficient in crossword puzzles and scrabble. The family would like to thank her dedicated and caring caregivers Bernadeth Cariaso, Jeanette Alarcio and Gen Gumpad who were by her side in her latter years. A private celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held for immediate family only at a time to be determined. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Lorraine’s memory may do so to the SPCA or a charity of their choice.
