~ Do Not Stand By My Grave And Weep ~

Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep—
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry—
I am not there,
I did not die.

Olive was and has been like a second mother to me for over 4o plus years. I was truly so blessed to have known her and thought of her as not only a mentor, but a friend I could always count on. Her laugh, her ability to always make life fun with her sayings, her never ending sense of compassion and gratitude for anything and everything life gave her. She was a dear friend to my wife and we so loved the last two years of being able to help her and her dear LEO for walks. I will miss my MOMSIE more than these simple words will convey. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace. xo

I had the pleasure of knowing Olive - even if it was for a moment in my life! She made me feel like I was family! I loved all her stories of her travels and just of life. Her laugh, her love for her sons' and I loved how she collected Magnets from all her travels. I've started that as well because of her! She will truly be missed! ❤️

Mom loved the outdoors and being in nature. One of her beloved places was to visit her cottage just outside Tweed Ontario. She found peace paddling in her canoe up and down the Moira River watching the birds and singing to the wildlife around her. One of her favorite companions was Riley (her dog) sitting at the helm of the canoe barking at the unpredictable wildlife and watching the neighbors waving back at her and saying hello. Another staple that defined Mom was travel. In the last number of years of her life she had the pleasure to travel to numerous countries and cities with some of her good friends. She told me, that she was so glad that she had the opportunity to see all these places and experience all these new cultures.
