In memory of

Olga Winfield

December 29, 1927 -  January 22, 2017

Olga Winfield (nee Zuk), 89, passed away on January 22, 2017, at West Oak Village in Oakville, after a long struggle with dementia. Olga was born on January 29, 1927 to Klym and Pauline (Shpak) Zuk on the farm near Preeceville Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of 7 children. Her siblings included Bill Zuk, Walter Zuk, Tillie (Zuk) Halyk, Kathleen (Zuk) Diakow, Stella Zuk and is survived by her brother Paul Zuk and sister-in-law Doris (Winfield) Zuk. Olga was married in Streetsville, Ontario on August 3, 1957 to Russell Winfield (deceased). She has 3 children, Kathy Winfield (David Szajowitz), Bill Winfield, and Carole (Winfield) Ribeiro (Mitchell Ribeiro). Olga was loved and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Olga spent most of her married life living in Etobicoke, raising her children and working at Sunbeam Canada in accounts payable. Olga loved listening to, watching and going to Blue Jays games with Russell. She loved playing cards, going to bingo, working on needlepoint, creating amazing pieces of ceramics and completing the daily crossword puzzles. What Olga will be most remembered for is her delicious cooking abilities. Everyone was always welcome to the lavish Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners, a plate of homemade “pinched” perogies or cabbage rolls, a bowl of Borscht or any other scrumptious dish that she decided to whip up from whatever was in the refrigerator.
Special thanks go to the staff of West Oak Village, long-term care facility. The nurses and personal support workers made the last year of Olga’s life very special. She was cared for in a loving manner and was treated with respect for the duration of her stay there. The family of Olga feel very blessed by the care she received.
Olga will be missed by her neighbours, family, friends, and especially by her children. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. We know that you are happy and with your loving husband, Russell now.

Aunt Olga I will miss you and your hospitality. You were an amazing cook and had a spotless house. Now you can rest in peace beside Uncle Russ. You were so good to me when I moved to Toronto.
To Kathy, David, Bill, Carole and Mitch my deepest sympathy.

Hi Carole Bill and Kathy
Sorry about your moms passing, we loved her very much as you did We had a lot of fun together over the last fifty-one years. She was one of my favourite aunts as was your dad(uncle bubbly, one of my favourite uncles). Another era has passed; we have only uncle Paul left of our grandmothers children.
Please accept our sincere condolences and blessings; aunt Olga is now playing poker with uncle Bubby!
Take care, love Beth & Robert.
