In memory of

Norma Vera McCann

October 5, 1925 -  March 10, 2018

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Vera McCann (nee Comek) on March 10, 2018 in her 93rd year. Beloved mother of Carrie-Lynn (and Luch Ognibene) and proud Grandma of Alexander and Natalie, Norma was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1988.

Norma loved children and animals, and she was an avid "green thumb" gardener, a creative needle worker, knitter and crafter, and a celebrated community volunteer and organizer. Some of her most fulfilling years were as an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Women's Auxiliary, Branch 75, where she served a term as President.

Norma was a very caring individual who had time for everyone. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her. She was very happy and fortunate to have had the opportunity to live in her North York home for more than 50 years, until the age of 89.

A fond goodbye and sincere thank you to Norma's friends and all the staff at Bethany Lodge and Bethany Manor in Markham, where she had resided since 2014.

Visitation will be held at the York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., Toronto (west of Yonge St., north of Sheppard Ave., 416-221-3404) on Thursday, March 15th, 2018 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at York Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Bethany Lodge Long-Term Care Home (wee.bethanylodge.org) or to your charity of choice would be much appreciated.
