With deep sadness the family of Norma announce her passing on December 19th, 2021, in her 97th year.
The heart of our family.

Reunited with her soulmate, her late husband George Shaw (2000), married 55 years.

Predeceased by her parents John (Jack) & Florence West (nee Eaton), also sisters Eileen Lindsay (1998), Shirley (John) Lewis (2010), Lorraine (Bruce) Ponton (1969) & brother Kenneth (2007) and her sister-in-law Betty (Charlie) Clarke, Francis Clementson (Wilfred) & brother-in-law Thomas (Mildred) Shaw.

Lovingly remembered by her devoted son Richard & his wife Suzanne of Courtice. Leaving behind her dear sister Joan (Vern) Draper of British Columbia. Norma is survived by daughter Deborah (Lauchie) McGinnis of Ottawa & her children, Sasha (Matt) Clayton, Cliff, Alex & Alana Crawford.

Proud & loving Grandmother to William Shaw & Stephanie (Mathieu) Hudebine of Courtice.
Adoring Great Grandmother "GiGi" to Leo & Louis Hudebine.
Devoted & caring niece Marilyn & husband Des Irving of Scarborough who helped her stay in her home as long as possible and always remembered her.

Norma is survived by many nieces & nephews, special mentions to Dianne (Dave) Ivey, Tom Shaw, Kidd, Sharon & Lance Lindsay & Al Clementson. Norma also leaves behind her cherished friend Madelaine Machibroda of Ajax.

Born in Toronto, Norma married George in October of 1946, eventually settling in West Hill for over 60 years. Devoted parents, spending summers at the cottage they built in Fenelon Falls. Norma was the domestic Queen of her home and gardens. Well known for arriving with her baked goods and was an accomplished knitter and sewer. Norma was a participating member of the West Hill Minor Hockey Assoc. in the 60's & 70's. After her children left home Norma started a part time career at Canadian Tire until her retirement. Norma & George enjoyed travelling in their retirement to Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii and many other places.

Norma spent the last couple years of her life at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa where she received excellent care. Thank you
