In memory of

Niki Tsianos

November 3, 1940 -  January 2, 2025

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Niki Tsianos, who passed away peacefully on Thursday January 2nd, 2025, in her 85th year. Niki was born to Panayiota and Demetri Kasimos in the village of Xirokambi, Sparti on November 3th, 1940. Niki was the middle child of 4 siblings (George, Vasiliki, Niki, and Peter).

Niki immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her family. She began her journey here by going to school to learn English and volunteering at Sunnybrook Hospital during her spare time. It was in Canada that she met her soulmate, Bill (Vasilios Tsianos). They were married on February 2nd, 1966, and together they became successful entrepreneurs, opening several restaurants and donut shops. Their hard work and shared vision built a thriving family business that brought joy to many.

Niki leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community. She was a devoted mother to three children; Mary (Jim), Mary (Mike), and Terry, whom she raised with love, strength, and wisdom. She has nine grandchildren Melanie (John), Nicole, Katerina (Stephen), Anastasia (George), Nicolette, Maria, Vasili, Dimitria, and Michael and eight great grandchildren - Achilleus, Alora, Thalia, Kleio, Theseus, Panayiotis, Leonidas, and George. Her family was the center of her world.

Niki was truly one of a kind – a gem with an amazing heart, a beautiful smile, and an unshakable care for everyone she met. She had the rare ability to light up every room she entered, and her warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Family and friends were the most important things in her life. She opened her home to everyone, believing that the way to people’s hearts was through sharing meals and spending time together.

A social butterfly at heart, Niki loved meeting new people wherever she went. She had an innate curiosity about others, always eager to listen to their stories and learn about their lives. Her Greek heritage and her love for visiting Greece were passions that filled her with joy and pride, and she cherished the deep connections she maintained with her roots.

Niki was also known for her impeccable sense of style and love for fashion. She took great pride in always looking her best. Looking nice and having her hair and nails always done were just a few of the many ways she expressed her vibrant personality.

Her family, along with her friends, will remember her for her boundless generosity, her joyful spirit, and the unwavering love she gave to all who were lucky enough to know her.

Niki’s passing leaves a deep void, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
Rest in Peace Niki. May your memory be eternal.
