In memory of

Nick Barisheff

November 15, 1945 - September 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Nika at Sunnybrook Hospital on September 15, 2023.

Nick was born on November 15, 1945 in Salzberg, Austria to his late parents Michael and Galina Barisheff (Martemianoff). He lived in Europe before immigrating to Canada at the age of four with his family, settling in Toronto.

Nick was married to Lorna for 29 years. He loved and was devoted to his daughter Christine and his son Craig, his son-in-law Kris, his grandchildren John and Henry, his brother-in-law Neil and his parents-in-law Dorothy and Malcolm.

Nick founded BMG Group Inc. in 1998 and was an ardent believer in precious metals as a vehicle for wealth preservation.

Nick lived a diverse life. He river rafted in Zihuatanejo in a hovercraft; he pit-crewed for Heimrath Porsche; he loved the desert (Arizona) and the Caribbean (the British Virgin Islands). He took flying lessons; he ran an Arabian horse breeding farm and he was never without a Bouvier or two at his side. He loved walking in the forest and boating on Lake Simcoe. He was an extraordinarily generous and giving man.

Nick’s passing leaves a terrible void in our hearts, and we are lost without him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2024.
