The family of Nguyen Dac Tran sadly announces his passing on January 28, 2019.

A visitation will be held at York Funeral Centre on Saturday, February 2, 2019 between 2 pm - 4 pm.

Dear Mrs. Tran, Trina, and Ann,

I am so sorry to hear the passing of your husband and dad. While I didn't know him personally, I know he is a big part of who you have become today, being such kind, gentle, hard-working, and overly considerate individuals. May you try to find comfort and peace from your family and close friends, and forever remember him in your hearts.

We got to know Tran when his beautiful daughter Ann married our son Michael.
Tran came to Canada because he wanted a better life for his family when his own country was being ravaged by war. Through Tran and his stories we were able to learn a little about Vietnamese culture, customs, cuisine and the hardships of war in a country we knew very little about. We feel blessed that the Trans became part of our Canadian family.
I can only imagine how hard the adjustment to a new country must have been when he arrived with his wife, her beloved mother and two young daughters.
He was proud of that family and I could see him light up especially when he talked about his daughters.
The daughters, Trina and Ann did him proud by growing up and both going on to successful careers in their adopted country, plus they both blessed him with grandchildren. He was so proud of these grandchildren, Ashlynn, Amanda, Amelia and Hunter. I think he must have taken hundreds of photos of them and made CD’s for all of us.
We feel blessed to have known Tran and we will miss him. We send our sincere sympathies to Huong, Ann, Trina, and all of his extended family. Pat, Judy and Lisa Ryan
