HUGHES, Neil Harvey – On April 14, 2021 at the age of 73 following a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Carol for 50 years. Loving son/son-in-law of the late Charles & Bessie Hughes, and the late Charles & Queenie Jacobs. Devoted father/father-in-law to Jordan (Kathleen), Beth, and Stephanie. Dear brother/brother-in-law of Ivor & Este Hughes, and the late Alan Jacobs. Stepbrother/brother-in-law of Hynda (Murray) Halpren and Marcia (Steve) Kemper. Adored grandfather of Zackary, Isaac, and Zoe.

Neil attended the University of Toronto Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and graduated in 1971 as an Industrial Engineer. He worked in private industry with Union Gas in Chatham, ON and then Victory Soy Mills on the Lakeshore in Toronto. As a Professional Engineer Neil joined his brother Ivor’s Patent Firm in 1984 and, subsequently, became a Registered Patent Agent. He successfully practised in this field for approximately 30 years.
