In memory of

Kathleen Louise Murphy

February 20, 1959 -  February 19, 2022

Kathleen Louise Murphy, 62, of Bowmanville, Ontario, passed away on February 19, 2022, at Scarborough Centenary Hospital due to heart complications resulting from a heart attack.

She was born to the late Jack and Florence Mantle on February 20, 1959, in Bowmanville, Ontario. After graduating from Bowmanville high school, she studied business administration and marketing at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario. Kathy is survived by two children: Michael and Lee-Ann. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and one sister.

Kathy was a successful business owner, having owned and operated a Fire Protection services company for over 20 years. She and her business partner sold the company and Kathy was settling into retirement. Kathy loved old movies like Shawshank Redemption and Grease. She had an appreciation for music such as Genesis, Bob Marley, and Alanis Morrissette. She looked after her mother, Florence, when she became ill and was by her side up until her passing in November 2021.

Kathy was an independent woman whose pride carried her through difficult times. She battled her health the last few years of her life and never wanted to give up or admit she needed help. She always put her family first. In our thoughts and prayers forever.
