In memory of

Mui Ling Chou (Lee) 周 李妙蓮 夫人

March 3, 1951 -  July 30, 2023

Mui Ling Chou, loving and devoted wife and mother of three was suddenly called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Mui Ling was born on March 3, 1951 in Kaiping, China. She was the fifth or seven siblings whom she loved dearly. Mui Ling met her husband Kuo Wei Chou in China and was married in 1970. They immigrated to Canada in 1981. Mui Ling worked tirelessly as a seamstress to support her family. Upon retirement she devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren, who absolutely adored her.

Mui Ling loved the Lord deeply and served within many ministries at Chinese Gospel Church. Mui Ling could be found regularly accompanying her pastor on visitations, leading worship, serving in fellowship, attending bible studies, and serving on the church board. She always put Christ first in her life. She will be forever missed but Mui Ling knew Christ as her Saviour and has a home in Heaven with him.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years, Kuo Wei, her three children: David (Sue) Chou, Peter (Diana) Chou, and Amy (Ricky) Cheng; four grandchildren: Joshua, Karl, Naomi & Everleigh.

We are neighbours of Ricky and Amy, and we were deeply saddened to hear about the sudden and unexpected passing of Amy’s mom. We did not know her well, but we often saw her on the street or heard her in the backyard playing with her grandchildren, who were always smiling and giggling around their grandmother. They truly adored her and she them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her as she seemed so gentle and kind. May her memories guide all of you through these very difficult times

Mrs. Chou and I would talk about flowers and I watch her nurture her garden for many years. I only ever saw love for humankind in her eyes. A great example of kindness.
Rest easy now with your Lord. You’ve gone to meet the others and I will see you again.

Twenty plus years as neighbours to the Chous. One might say “ the perfect “ neighbours. Always a smile, always a hello. Always a happy and beautifully kept garden. Watched their children grow and saw the joy in her embrace with her grandchildren. A handful of string beans passed through the fence by her gentle hand, or her healing touch with my less than fortunate orchids , Mrs. Chou’s energy and kindness made us better people.
Rest well,
Greg & Eric.
