William H. Yam passed away peacefully at Mon Sheong Stouffville Long-Term Care Centre on December 24, 2024 at the age of 99. Born in China on March 4, 1925. Loving husband of Tak In Yeung (aka Teresa) for over 60 years. Cherished father of Hellen (Davy Choi), David (Sheena Aiping Yang), Miranda, Jane (Alfonso Lee), and Kenne (Ong Ai Leng). Loving grandfather of Derek Chan (Megan Sato), Desiree Lee, and Kyle Yam.

William and Teresa met in Hong Kong and got married in the Fifties. William had his own business and Teresa was a housewife in Hong Kong until they immigrated to Canada in 1990. William was always eager to try different foods, especially fond of lamb, mint jelly and Japanese food - maguro sashimi among others. His time was spent watching cooking shows, sports shows, and international news. William was a lifelong learner who remained mentally sharp and quick-witted into his old age. He lived life to the fullest and regularly enjoyed the company of his wife, children, and grand children. Although he has passed on, he will always be remembered fondly by his family.
