In memory of

甄心正先生 Mr. Sam Jing Jean

August 30, 1935 -  January 22, 2024

Sam Jing Jean, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 11am on January 22, 2024 at North York General Hospital. He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Siu Yuk; devoted father to his sons Raymond and William.

Born in a small village of ShuShanCun, TaiShan, Guangdong, China. He came to Canada in 1956 where he worked at various Chinese restaurants in North Bay, Huntsville and Toronto as busboy, waiter then cook. After 9 years in Canada, he went back to Hong Kong where he met Siu Yuk through a mutual friend, they married in February 1967.

Raised 2 sons in Toronto (Riverdale/Leslieville) while sponsoring a number of relatives to Canada. After 22 years working at Canadian Pacific Railway's Agincourt Yard, he took early retirement in March 1997 at 61 years of age. Since then he focused more on his passions of playing Chinese flute, harmonica and especially Mah-Jong! His patience easy going nature helped him become a great gardener especially for his flowers and Chinese vegetable garden - under constant attack from squirrels and raccoons of Willowdale.

Retirement also give his wife the opportunity to drag him to Casino Rama and travelling including - boat cruises, bus cruises throughout North America, Western Europe and of course Asia - many times.

Funeral services to be held at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
