In memory of

譚文忠先生 Mr. Man Chung Tam

September 26, 1946 -  August 23, 2020

Man Chung Tam believed in punctuality. Even for the most casual gathering, if the invitation stated that the start time was 7:00, that is when he would aim to show up. He insisted on doing things on time - or better yet, early. But he set off for the afterlife much too early.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Man Chung Tam passed away in his 73rd year. He passed away peacefully - at home, as he wished, with his family by his side.

He will be fondly remembered for - among many things - his generosity towards his loved ones; impressing upon his daughters, nieces, and nephews the importance of managing their money wisely; and being the Tam family's historian. He will be deeply missed by his wife Ginny, daughters Emily and Carolyn (Victor), grandson Aidan, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

We take comfort in his reassurances that he was satisfied with the life he lived, that he had no regrets. If the Business News Network and books about Chinese history exist in the afterlife, we are certain that his time will be happily occupied.

Memorial donations to a charity that is meaningful to you will be much appreciated.

Man Chung,
It saddened us so much with your passing. We've known each other for 53 years since the college days and we live in the same neighbourhood for many years too. We certainly miss you and your company for coffee, dinners, travels (Hong Kong, Xiamen, Macau - Nov. 2014; New England & Canada Cruise - Oct. 2015; and Panama Canal Cruise - March 2019 and the occasional wine or beer get-togethers which we all had a lot of fond memories. Your were always so nice, generous, considerate and helpful on any matters.
From the bottom of our heart, you will always be lingered in our memories.

Dear Ginny, our deepest condolence to you and to your family for the passing of Man. We will remember him as a person who was willing to help out friends when they were in need of his help. Please take it easy and he will be in our prayers

For those 2.5 years he was an honour student and I wasn't. He sat in the front row and I sat at back. He appeared to be an honorable and upright person and one of the classmates I respected. We were both in Toronto but lived far apart. During our 2007 Toronto reunion we spent 3 days on the same bus and found to have quite a few common interests. His passing away, i suddenly feel.very lost.
