In memory of

李德強先生 Mr. John Lee

May 14, 1959 -  January 20, 2023

JOHN LEE May 14, 1959 – January 20, 2023.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Lee. He was only 63. John will be greatly missed by his wife, Joan and sons, Bryan and Austin and their partners, Tiffanie and Alison. Treasured son of Henry Pok Man Lee and So Kuen Lee. Beloved brother of Carol (Frank), Alice and Sandy (Jessica) and an exceptional fun-loving uncle to Derek, Lindsey (Tom), Kristen, Sarah, Brenden and Ryen. Dearly loved son-in-law to Lily Jung and the late Hugh Jung and brother-in-law to James Jung. John graduated from University of Toronto (B. Sc. 1982) where he made lifelong friends with whom he started his career in computer science. John was an IT professional and executive for over 40 years, leading and inspiring teams across numerous industry sectors (Accugraph; Scotia; Fidelity Investments; Aviva Canada; Pitney Bowes; SNC Lavalin; Black & MacDonald; and Dye & Durham). He liked nothing better than spending time with his family and cleaning. He was a woodworker and built furniture. He was a pianist and recently took up composing music. He touched the lives of many people with his smile, his generosity and his outward look on life. John will be sorely missed by all.

The family will receive visitors on Friday January 27, 2023 from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto ON M2N 5Z5.

A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 10 am at Eastminster United Church, 310 Danforth Ave, Toronto (corner of Danforth and Jackman). The burial will follow at York Cemetery, Section 29.
In John’s memory, a donation to University of Toronto – St. Michael’s College would be much appreciated.

This news is very sad and shocking I worked with John for a number of years and always appreciated his support and dedication on any project we crossed paths with. It should also be noted John provided a lot of assistance behind the scenes in getting donations for a local charity - Lew Dunn Charity Classic which raised over $4 million dollars for Colon Cancer research and education. I told John many times over I appreciated his hard and dedication for the charity. I was lucky enough to have the chance to work with John. I pass on my condolences to the entire family. I know my words won’t do justice but John was a role model. RIP John.
