Mostafa Assadollahi

Mostafa Assadollahi, a pioneer of modern graphic design, passed away on October 9, 2024 in his home in Toronto, Canada. Mostafa was born in Tehran, Iran on May 13th, 1950.

Mostafa studied design and graphic arts at Tehran University and later at the Sorbonne in Paris. He made a profound impact on contemporary Iranian graphics with his use of minimalism and cultural motifs with a personal tone. Mostafa was a professor at the Tehran University of Fine Arts, and one of the founders of the Iranian Graphic Designers Association.

In 1983, Mostafa married Mehrnaz Kokabi in Tehran, Iran. They went on to have 2 loving daughters, Negar and Bahar. Mostafa will be remembered not only as a talented artist but as an influential educator, shaping future generations of Iranian designers.

An interment service will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery on Saturday October 12th at 11:30am. Meet at the burial site: Section 37 Lot 369.

Mostafa Assadollahi was a renowned graphic designer and a creative force whose work inspired so many in his field. Mostafa left behind an incredible legacy of artistic brilliance, innovation, and generosity that has touched countless lives.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mostafa was known for his warmth, and humility. His passing is a significant loss not only to the design community but to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We extend our deepest condolences to our dear cousin and Mostafa’s wife “Mehrnaz Kokabi”, his two daughters Negar and Bahar as well as his friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
