Morley Arnold McInnis passed away at his residence of more than 60 years in Willowdale on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the age of 94.
He was born in Matchedash Township, Simcoe County, to Herbert and Louise (nee Robinson) McInnis in 1923, where his father was CP stationmaster.
He met his wife, the former Mary Joyce Merkley (nee Petrie) while they were both staffing summer pleasure cruises of the Great Lakes on the S.S. Noronic. They were married in 1947.
Morley’s long career in sales and sales management included the vice-presidency of the Dixie Cup Division of American Can Co. in Toronto.
He was an avid woodworker, ice skater, downhill skier, and Muskoka cottager until well into his eighties.
He was predeceased by his wife in 1979. Sons John and Paul, grandchildren David, Evan, Ian, and Aidan, as well as several great-grandchildren, are left to remember him.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, September 8 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York. A celebration of Morley’s life will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at the adjacent cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Funeral Centre to the charity of your choice.
