With sincere sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother Monica Catherina MacPherson (nee Carty) on August 27, 2023. Monica is predeceased by her husband and our father John William MacPherson and late husband Ted McKend.

Monica was a loving mother to her children; Susan, John (loving wife Anita) and Colleen (loving and departed husband Paul MacLellan). Monica leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren she loved so much; Abby, John, Patrick, Liam, Aaron, Brent, Lauren and Kevin. She was a Great Grandmother to her precious little ones Olivia, Maeve and Milo.

Monica was born in Dublin Ireland to her parents Christopher and Rosanna Carty (nee Harris). Monica is survived by her siblings Kitty, Grace and Robert along with numerous nieces and nephews she made lasting relationships with. Monica will join her siblings who passed before her; Christy, Polly, Roseanna, Willie, Joan, Dermot, Anthony, Teresa and Veronica.

Love of family and friends was the core of Monica’s existence. A good old cup of Irish tea was never far away while sharing stories and talking about the love of her children and family. Baking her annual Christmas pudding for friends, sewing with her sister Joan and close friend Pauline and enjoying the warmth of the Florida sunshine are just a few examples of Monica’s passions. She volunteered in her community through the Home and School Association, Canadian Cancer Society and Girl Guides. Above all, spending time with friends and family was her favourite pleasure.

Monica provided us all with a true gift of unconditional love and will be dearly missed. She left the world in a better place.
